Marble has always been an element of very high category in everything related to the world of construction, decoration and interior design. Marble objects present in a layout are considered in themselves aesthetic elements, just because they’re made of this material. Some others, such as the Arco lamp, combine different materials like metal in addition to marble that produces a very pleasing effect to the eye.
Due to the wide tradition of its use for years, marble has been much appreciated since ancient times. It became the favorite material of Greek and Roman sculptors and architects and was also a symbol of power. It’s also currently a cultural symbol of tradition and refined taste.
To give the Arco lamp an ultimate touch of elegance and prominence, its designers added a rectangular Italian Carrara Marble Base with a beveled corner that provides a solid, reliable foundation for its Stainless Steel Arch. Carrara marble base is a special type of marble for several reasons: It was the marble type used in many sculptures of the Renaissance including Michelangelo’s David, It was unveiled by future UK Prime Minister Archibald Primrose, 5th Earl of Rosebery on 6 April 1882, among other important works and events.
