About The Designer
Noguchi Table Designer, Japanese Architect Isamu Noguchi held a strong belief. Noguchi believed it was the sculptor’s purpose to shape space itself, giving it order and meaning, and that art should “disappear” and be as one with its surroundings. That belief is translated in each of his pieces, particularly the Noguchi Table, which seems to easily blend with any room it decorates.
For most of its life, Noguchi supported himself early on by sculpting portrait busts, but it wasn’t until 1940 that Noguchi began to work in furniture design. Although Noguchi developed several iconic pieces for famous companies such as Herman Miller and Knoll; Noguchi is internationally famous as a sculptor, landscape artist, and set designer. Most of his work, including his famous Noguchi Table, can be seen at the Isamu Noguchi Museum in Long Island City, New York.

Is It Safe To Put My Feet Up On A Noguchi Table Replica?
While the glass tabletop of our Noguchi Table replica sits on top of the base, it is not attached to it. The weight of the tabletop glass holds it in place to avoid any shifting while the wood legs interlock to form a solid base for self-stabilizing support. Despite these and the fact that the tabletop glass is a 3/4 inch thick, we would not recommend putting your feet on a Noguchi table, it was not designed for that.
