Halloween is coming!
Halloween is the holiday we celebrate annually on October 31, this year will be celebrated on Saturday which means that is perfect to show your backyard’s decor, Barcelona table, or even garage’s decor with family and friends.
History of Halloween celebration
The Halloween tradition originated with the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, this festival was held to mark the end of the harvest season and winter or the beginning of the “darkest half” of the year, in this celebration people tended to light bonfires and wear costumes to protect yourself from ghosts and spirits.
The interesting thing about the origins of Halloween is that the date selected was influenced by Pope Gregory II, where he chose November 1 to venerate the saints. After some time, the “days of the saints” began to include a couple of Samhain festival traditions. Finally, the name “Halloween” comes from the day before the night, better known as All Hallows Eve, and later Halloween.
A couple of years later, the Halloween tradition began to evolve into a day of activities such as trick-or-treating, carving pumpkin lanterns, festive gatherings, putting on costumes, and eating treats.
